Useful Goodies
JustZipIt
A nifty little free compression program.
CleanUp
This is a must have. This program will clean just about everything, and it does it at blazing fast speeds! Note - Make sure you don't run it in Demo Mode.
WINRAR
This is also a compression program, but much more powerful. In addition to being a compression program, it will also read and launch .rar programs.
Browser
Options
Whether unfortunate or not, the reality is IE is the most functional browser around as most sites are generally built to be in compliance with IE. There are however options.
While Opera supports any given graphics, I find the permissions one must enable to be a bit tedious. Having said that, if you are dealing with sites that are primarily text-based, Opera hands down is by far the most superior browser I have ever encountered.
I can’t really explain why I have never jumped on the Firefox bandwagon, it’s just never has really ‘rang my bell’. However, I have to admit that when all else fails, Mozilla’s Firefox browser is what I turn to.
This is an older version of Jasc's Paint Shop Pro, but hey, not only is it free, it's actually very easy to use and is feature rich in the options and tools. Either manipulating photographs or building images from scratch, while it's not Adobe, it's not bad!
A Little Bit of 'G' Love!
The site wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t include a little bit of my “Fight The System” mentality.
So, for those of you who may have work issued Windows XP computers with an Administrator Password Restriction, and have to sign on as a ‘User’ with limited permissions, this is where you put me on your Christmas card list and state “I love G”!
NOTE – If you don’t understand what I am about to say, you do NOT want to be playing with this. This only works for Windows XP.
Download the zip file, unzip it and then burn it to disc. In the machine you want to crack, you need to first start it up and immediately go into the Start Up options. Reset the boot order to read from the CD drive first. Insert the CD, and power down the machine. Power it up and it will read the files and initiate the program. At this point, you may now change any Administrator or User names and passwords. Enjoy!
